BlackBerry appears to be taking advantage of reports of iMessage’s vulnerability to spam as it recently posted a blog where the company highlights five reasons why BBM is superior to iMessage. The company even goes as far as suggesting that iMessage users should switch to BBM to avoid the spam.

The company claims BBM is safer primarily because it doesn’t utilize a phone number or email address and it only accepts messages from users who are on your contacts list.
